The primary school, designed to accommodate 280 pupils in 11 classrooms, is due to complete in summer 2015.
The two-storey building will run alongside the Forth & Clyde Canal in Strathkelvin Place, and will include a large school hall with a separate dining area that doubles up as an activity and music area.
