The contract (Package 8 GRIP 5-8) is part of a wider project to allow longer trains to run on key commuter lines in southeast England to deliver a higher passenger capacity into London.
The Colas Rail Morgan Sindall Joint Venture was formed in October 2009 to bid for and undertake works as part of the Enhancements Multi Asset Framework Agreement 2009-2014 (“MAFAâ€).
Other projects that the JV is working on include:
- York Holgate Junction 4th Line
- East Grinstead Train Lengthening
- Cambridge Island Platforms
- Borders Rail Link.
