Chartered management accountant Tim Young has this week taken over as managing director of Mr Plant Hire.
He has joined the plant hire industry from catering supplier Global Infusion Group, where he was managing director for two years.
He has spent most of his career in finance officer roles. His first managing director post was with AMP Air Conditioning, a distribution subsidiary of Panasonic, where he had previously been finance director. He oversaw post-acquisition integration following its purchase by Panasonic.
At Mr Plant Hire, Young is expected to focus on commercial performance, streamlining operations and supporting parent company AER Rents Group’s wider growth strategy.
Mr Plant Hire has been part of the AER Rents Group, which is owned by Ireland’s O’Flaherty Holdings, since 2014. AER acquired Mainline Group in 2020, Welfare 4 Hire in 2021,  Chippindale Plant in 2022 and Hudson Lifting in 2023.
