Trident Building Consultancy has recruited Tom Hiscutt to head up its newly created fire safety facade remediation service.
Hiscutt joins the national surveying practice’s London office with almost 20 years of construction experience, as well as a postgraduate diploma in facade engineering that he completed over the past four years as part of an MSc degree.
While studying, he also led a team of project managers, cost consultants and fire engineers investigating fire safety façade remediation projects.
In his new role Hiscutt will support the growth of Trident’s early stage investigation works as well as seek to develop the firm’s onsite remediation delivery service.

He said: “Whilst the Grenfell disaster was seven years ago, the progress of remediation across the UK has unfortunately been very slow.  This was highlighted by the government recently, and it is reinforced by my own experience in working with clients that have a large programme of remediation works ahead of them.
“By enhancing our fire safety services, particularly in relation to façade remediation, Trident Building Consultancy will be able to support clients through this journey to ensure buildings, and more importantly, those who live and work in them, are as protected as they can be. This is an increasingly vital role and I’m delighted to join a business that puts such an emphasis on it.â€
Trident managing director Dan Roe said: “Fire safety is a growing area for us. It is also a hugely important and worthwhile service to provide because it involves keeping people safe. We have been progressively growing our fire safety team through training and recruitment over recent years. The addition of Tom puts us in a fantastic position to help clients across the capital and further afield ensure they are fully fire safety compliant.â€
