The ZX130LCN-7B, equipped with Engcon tiltrotator and Leica 3D machine control has been painted in Westpoint’s brand grey and certainly stands out from the ocean of orange you typically see on a Westpoint site.
We visited Westpoint on one of their house building projects in Coventry to speak to Ryan Doleman, operator of the anniversary machine, to get his first impressions.
The cab of your dreams
"I have come off a machine of a different manufacturer and can say straight away that you get a lot more as standard, such as front and rear sun visor, heated seats and rain guard".
Ryan went on to say, "The colour monitor is intuitive and easy to understand, allowing me to see at a glance the position of my machine. The cab overall is bigger than I am used too and is more comfortable than the machine I came off prior".
Summing up the cab of the ZX130LCN-7B, "Everything in the cab, including the standard items aren’t big things individually, however when you put them all together like Hitachi have, it makes the perfect working environment".
Powerful hydraulics
"As you’d expect from Hitachi the hydraulics are really smooth, with power and precision. Coupled up with the Engcon tiltrotator, it makes me more efficient and my day more productive."
Top-class performance
Commenting on another feature of the ZX130LCN-7B, "On the new -7 I am a big fan of the priority roll in, roll out function on the dipper arm. It has allowed me to fine tune my machine to my driving style".
Overall, the combination of the machine control and tiltrotator is a huge benefit for Ryan, "Having the Leica and Engcon installed makes you more independent, you don’t need people in your working area, making it safer and at the end of the day more productive".
